KANNAWIDAN

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur, Feb. 20 (PIA) -- The yearly Kannawidan Ylocos Festival of Ilocos Sur showcases the spirit of the Ilocano Child.

 

Watching the children from the mountainous towns of Ilocos Sur perform their ‘tribal rites’ and dances in their tribal costume called “baag” (a woven cloth worn over their undies), on bare foot under the midday sun strips me of vanity and pride. And propels me to that place where everything is pure, simple and honest. 

 

This festival, celebrated on January 29 to February 5, also highlights Ilocos food, arts, trade, crafts, and products.

 

Witnessing all this makes one realize the beauty and dignity of Ilocos culture and people. We should be proud of our Ilocano culture.  

 

Like the beauty of the Bayanihan Dance Company show which proudly featured the Filipino culture in songs and dances, the tribal rituals and dances of the province summarizes what Kannawidan Festival is all about.

 

The festival not only brings us takes one back to the roots; it also enables one to look into the future through art created by children. Their art speaks of their belief in the beauty of the world as gift from the Creator. Their songs and dances outshine any sadness  this present world has thrown at them.(ANL/ICR-PIA 1 Ilocos Sur)

 

My Dream.......My Future......

                              Dreaming is not impossible. Other said, its free so dont be ashamed to discover your sorcerity. When we are still young beyond the control of our parents,if you can still remember the time they asked you.  What do you want to be in the future? Nothing else cant say..... a doctor, nurse, accountant.......Yes, nothing is impossible if we work. I remember the time my mother asked my ambition, I've answered my mom.... I want to become an architect and until now I want to pursue that cherish dream. What an ambitious boy.
                              As of now, I am ready to hit my success. I promised to my beloved mom that I will do my best to reach the goal that I worked on as I still young. I am  not going to promised with my own words but I will try to strive harder as a promise indeed. Dreaming is reality, just work and assure wiyh your best. Success always begins with dreaming. There are a lot of posibilities that may happen beyond our control when we do all our best.

Responding to Climate Change

                          Climate change is commonly occured due to pollution of environment which are global warming , El-Nino , La Nina and other climate changes.Climate change is a very tragic condition of the mother earth because it has a very indigenous effect to all human beings that can cause death.What are the things that we are going to do to fight this calamities?
                          Mother earth is the only planet where human being can only live,so we should protect mother earth to survive from different kinds of calamities.These climate changes were very prone to everybody because these can affect the ozone layer then it will occur the different kind of calamities which can cause  thousands of human being will die.
                            We should help one another to survive from these climate changesWe should protect our nature let us give respect to our mother nature.

PROMOTING DIGITAL LITERACY THROUGH ENGLISH PROFFICIENCY

                           In our everyday life,we are needing digital literacy through english profficiency especially to students like me.Weare now living in a high technology world so in this matter we can easily do our school works.But there are also bad effects that we should consider in this technologies.through digital literacy we can cope up other wisdom knowledges that we can help us to hit our cherish dream.Long time ago ,they are just using the books from the library ,so we are very lucky in this generation because we are now using different kinds of technologies were we can gain more knowledges .Digital literacy is a big help to all of us couz through this we can easily upgrade our minds.Our country is full of  bad influences so we should not consider digital literacy to be the cause to be addicted from different kinds of bad influences that can affect our futurebut we should promote it
                             So digial literacy is very important to every human being to hit our education.We should consider digital litracy as our guide toremark our success.Lets PROMOTE DIGITAL LITERACY THROUGH ENGLISH PROFFICIENCY.
